Vintage 2012 La Perle

This vintage champagne consists of mostly chardonnay from grand cru villages in Côte des Blancs; in addition to that pinot noir from Verzy, in Montagne de Reims. A dry, elegant champagne that expresses a long time of cellar aging on its lees. 

On the nose citrus and some hazelnut, the palate reveals both freshness and lovely ripe fruit. A great partner to aged cheeses and dishes with some fat and creaminess.

Growing season 2012 started off as a challenge, with frost, hail and lots of rain, yet a warm summer and sunny August and September turned things around. 2012 is considered a very good year, the vintage champagnes are great to drink now.
