Vintage 2013
Description
Vintage 2013
Champagne from vintage year 2013, with mainly pinot noir and a smaller part chardonnay from grand cru village Bouzy. Fermentation took place in oak barrels, malolactic fermentation was blocked to keep freshness and fine acidity. After second fermentation the champagne was allowed over five years of aging on its lees.
Vintage year 2013 started late because of a cool spring and the yield was relatively low. September brought sunshine and helped the grapes ripen but they were picked quite late. Generally, vintage 2013 is a good drink now.
Nice complex blend with pinot noir adding structure, chardonnay freshness. Red fruit in the aroma, the flavor has ripe fruit and some brioche.
