Côteaux champenois Bouzy rouge 2019
For decades, Guy Mea has produced red wine to make rose (by adding a little red to white wine). In 2019 the producers were very excited about the wonderfully ripe pinot noir from two vineyards in Bouzy, planted in the fifties and sixties. They decided to make a still red wine, coteaux champenois.
Half of the grapes fermented in amphora, to preserve the fresh fruitiness. The other half fermented in oak barrels, to add roundness and structure. Together the parts make a wonderful red wine with freshness, complexity and length: dark fruit, a hint of forest. Not clarified or filtered, and exciting choice for the dinner table.
- 100% pinot noir
