In Champagne sweet fortified wine is made as well: ratafia. Alcohol is added to unfermented most (grape juice), which blocks fermentation. The result is a sweet alcoholic beverage.
l'Exaltant is made of pinot noir from Verzy, the grapes get 24 hours of skin maceration. The alcohol is 18%, this wine has aged in barrels.
A nice sweet wine with dried fruit in the flavor, great with desserts with raisins and nuts, or a cheese platter.
