Veuve Clicquot vintage consists of grapes from premier and grand cru vineyards, and pinot noir is the main grape in the blend. Eleven percent of the wine was vinified and aged in large oak foudres, which adds light tones of candied citrus and almond.
Growing season 2012 started off as a challenge, with frost, hail and lots of rain, yet a warm summer and sunny August and September turned things around. 2012 is considered a very good year, the vintage champagnes are great to drink now.
