2013 was a tumultuous vintage year in Champagne. After a cold snowy winter, a cool and wet spring followed. Then came a hot summer. September brought sunshine which helped the grapes ripen, but they were picked late. All in all, many producers chose to make a vintage champagne from this year. In many cases, 2013 is ready to drink now. 

For this vintage champagne Bollinger used pint noir grapes from mostly grand cru vineyards in Montagne de Reims. A fresh yet complex champagne: citrus, yellow fruit, cake dough.
