Rich, aged pinot noir champagne from old vines

Vintage 2009 Empreinte Noire

Complex pinot noir champagne made of grapes from six grand cru vineyards with forty year old vines, close to Ambonnay. Vinification takes place is small oak barrels, malolactic fermentation is blocked. This champagne is allowed ten years of aging on its lees.

Look for red fruit and spices in aroma and flavor: this is a dry, rich champagne, a wonderful companion to sashimi of grilled fish.
