The vineyards of family domain Domaine Méa, in Montagne de Reims, are located around grand cru villages Louvois and Bouzy and, a little up north, Ludes and Montbré (premier cru). The 9.5 hectares of vineyards, spread out over 27 parcels, are planted with pinot noir mostly (70%), some chardonnay (26%) and a little meunier (4%).

Champagne maker Guy Méa extended the vineyards of his namesake domain in the fifties and left it to his daughter Evelyne in the eighties. Nowadays it is granddaughter Sophie who runs the show. As a young girl she claimed: 'When I grow up, I'll be a champagneuse'. Since 2010, she is part of the family business, and now runs it with husband Franck Moussié, trained in Bordeaux. In the vineyards no herbicides or pesticides are used, and the domain has a HVE sustainability certification.

In addition to the traditional champagnes, with more traditional looking labels, the house creates a line of champagnes that expresses a sense of experiment, and connects to the preferences of champagne lovers these days: dry in style, and expressing terroir.
